Nothing is more refreshing than listening to the music of Imani Coppola. The Brooklyn-based singer/songwriter bounces from genre to genre, yet remains resolutely herself. From Chupacabra, her 1998 debut, to her forthcoming release, The Protagonist, out this September on Ipecac Records. If this all looks effortless, it’s simply because Imani is an authentic artist.
